Fender '54 Strat, black, made in Japan 2005-6. Here, friends, we have the Fender Japan take on the classic Clapton 'blackie' model. That means you get a sweet soft-V neck, which on this later model is blessed with a satin finish, 22 frets and a 10" radius, as well as a set of sparkly Lace Sensor pickups and a hefty mid boost on the second tone circuit. It really is a superb sounding Strat: heaps of clarity and sizzle with a juicy low end from the pickups, plus all the thick saucy mids you could want on tap via the boost. The neck is very conducive to quick lead runs and big bends; it's an absolute pleasure in the hands. It's unusual to score these in such clean shape; this one is as close to mint as you could ask for a guitar that's fourteen years old. This will easily match the USA Clapton-signature models for tone and feel, but it doesn't technically have someone's name on the headstock so you can save yourself a thousand or so to blow on other 'essentials'. You'll love it, I certainly do.
