Fender '57 P, black, made in Japan 1993-4. What a classic, right? The Precision Bass was the first ever successful production electric bass; this little legend is continuing that tradition. The maple board adds a bit of grit and sparkle to the tone; it's still got that classic P-punch and growly midrange, but with a nice defined treble to help cut through a mix. This one is super light, which is a big bonus if you're playing long sets regularly, but it also seems to add a certain heftiness to the low end of the tone; plus, somehow the neck doesn't dive. A previous owner has taken a bit of the sheen off the finish on the front of the body and the board, so this one has a bit of a scratched-up vibe about it. It's awesome in the hands: immediately responsive and agreeably resonant, with an intuitive beefy neck that just feels right. Generally around here, a well played tuxedo P Bass doesn't last long, so make it yours without too much deliberation if you're keen.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. Headstock is pretty clean, just some minor dimples on the end and bottom edge. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands; there's some minor dimples on the back, but the front has been sanded to a matte look; there's some scratch marks visible up and down the board as well as some rub wear from play on the edges. The back has widespread dimples and scuffs but no major marks. The sides have no major marks, just light dimples and scuffs around the whole body. The front has also been lightly sanded, so there's some long scratch marks around the paintwork. There's also a chip ont he top horn and a couple of dents in the elbow area. The guard has been replaced but has a few discoloured spots. Overall: good condition (6.5/10).

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets are looking tidy, 8/10 for fret life left. Set up with fresh 45/105 Moonshiners strings.
