Fender '57 Strat, old candy apple, made in Japan 2010. This is just... good. Firstly, the finish is sweet. Old candy is a little darker and moodier than regular candy apple, so this has a certain mysterious depth to the hue that's very appealing. It really makes the golden maple board pop; this looks supreme. The tone is equally saucy: the slightly fatter neck with maple board adds a little bit of high midrange focus to the tone, so there's a sweet snap and bite on the top end balanced by a warm, gooey midrange and a punchy, tight bass. The classic 50s style D shape neck is easy to enjoy; it's a little beefier than a regular modern profile, but it sits in the hand nicely and has a certain relaxing quality to it. This is one of those Strats that just adds up nicely in the hands, it just feels and sounds right. Plus, it's super light, which my lazy shoulders certainly appreciate.

The front is fairly clean, just some scuffs and a dings behind the bridge, dimples on the top horn and some play wear on and around the guard. Overall: good condition (7/10).
Playing condition notes: Neck is straight, action is low, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Frets have some normal wear, but there's plenty of height in them and no major buzz issues; 7/10 for life left. Setup with fresh 10/46 Moonshiners strings.
