Fender '62 Jazz, made in Japan 1993-4, lake placid blue with matching headstock. What a gorgeous creation we have here! Lake placid wasn't a catalog option on this model in the 90s, nor was a matching headstock. The finish has yellowed all over to a superb halfway point between lake placid and ocean turquoise, it's a stunning oceanic hue. The mint guard and streaky rosewood board make it pop just right too; it's such a classy thing. Tone-wise, it packs the good too: heaps of punch and thick, hefty low end, accompanied by a snappy top end and a healthy dose of growl. It's a little heavier than some other MIJ Js we've had through, but that seems to translate nicely in the tonal department. The classic slim, round neck with comfortable 38mm nut is vey easy to get along with; it's an easy player. I love it, you love it, we all love it, right?
