Fender '62 Jazz Bass, vintage white, crafted in Japan 2006-8. This one has caught a lot of eyes already in the very short time since I pulled it from the box... what a slick creature. This has all those classic J things: a slim, round super comfy neck with a dreamy dark rosewood board, lightweight nicely balanced offset body and a pair of punchy pickups. There's a nice growl and bark to the tone; there's plenty of midrange presence to help cut through the mix paired with a tasty, warm dollop of creamy low end. Speaking of creamy... what a finish, right? The slightly buttery white pops beautifully against the dark brown tort board and streaky rosewood neck; it looks superb. This is a perfect working player's bass; it'll deliver in any number of genres and situations and always stay classy.
