Fender Japan '62 Jazz Bass, walnut finish, made in Japan 1993/4. This is surely quite something! Around 1990, Fender Japan offered a limited release of instruments made entirely of walnut, both body and neck; the Jazz Bass in the line was given the model number JB62-115WAL. Once the initial run of those was sold out, they were never repeated, but the model was available as a special order and supplied with a very similar look but different species of wood. This is one of the order-made versions, so you get a beautifully grained alder body and a maple neck, stained top-to-bottom in a rich walnut hue. It's then finished in satin nitro, which really allows the wood to breathe beautifully, and then appointed with some deluxe USA pickups and gold hardware. The look is luxurious and all class; it's got a certain glitzy swagger to add a twist to the classic lines. Aside from looking good, this really does bring all the lot to the table. The satin finish feels amazing in the hands: the neck is perfectly smooth and incredibly comfortable, and the body rings great enthusiasm at the lightest touch. There's an added brightness and punch from the USA pickups, balanced nicely by an open, warm midrange and a thumping, tight low-end. These don't come out very often and always turn a lot of heads! Cosmetic condition notes: mild finish wear. Headstock and neck pretty clean. The back has a couple of very light dimples, very little that's noticeable. There's some minor scuffs on the bottom edge around from the jack. The front is pretty clean, just some very light play scratches on the guard and top horn. Seriously could almost be new. Overall condition: excellent condition (9/10)

Playing condition notes: action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have minor wear only, they're looking great, 8.5/10 for life left. Set up with fresh 45/105s.
