Fender '62 J, crafted in Japan 1999-02, ocean turquoise. Firstly: this has a great neck. It's got that slim, quick and instantly familiar classic J profile, but this one in particular is sporting a really tasty piece of flame maple... the grain seems to come alive when the light hits it on a particular angle. These '62 Jazz Bass models have a particular articulate, snappy thump that's both distinctive and versatile; combined with the absolute ease of play on offer, you'll be sounding your best instantly. The finish on this has yellowed to a classy forest green, combined with a mint guard and a streaky slab of rosewood, this is surely dressed to kill. If you're after a carefree party starter with a whole lot of class, look no further.

The back is looking good, just a few very minor marks on the bottom edge and the start of a few checking lines. Sides are pretty clean, just a few small scuffs down from the rear strap pin, around from the knobs and on the bottom horn. The front is looking tidy, just some extra holes from a since-removed bridge cover, some very light play scratches and the start of some checking, most notably near the bridge. There's a couple of guard screws missing. Overall: very good condition (8/10)
Playing condition notes: action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have some minor wear but are looking great, 8/10 for life left. Set up with fresh 45/105s.
