Fender '57 Strat, made in Japan 1987, candy apple red. Candy apple always looks delicious on a Strat; it was a great idea six decades ago, and it's a great idea now. This is all classic class! These 80s-era Fujigen Strats are the subject of a growing legend owing to their exceptional build quality and amazing wood selection lending them a 'mojo' that's difficult to articulate but instantly easy to feel. The neck on this is lovely: it's yellowed to a sweet golden hue, there's some very pretty grain on show and it has the sweet worn-in feel that comes from a few decades of play. The classic Strat-spank is strong with this one; it's got a tasty thick, snappy attack with a tight bottom end and a healthy dose of sizzle on the top end. This is a really lovely Strat, it's sure to keep things saucy for several decades to come.

Cosmetic condition notes: mild finish wear. There's a couple of marks on the end of the headstock. Neck has a couple of little dings behind the 3rd and 7th fret, but they're minor and don't inhibit play; there's also some wear on the bottom edge of the board around the first couple of frets. The back has a fair few minor 'buckle rash' marks spread around the place: some scratches, checking lines, minor dents; they're most around the cavity cover and edges of the body. The sides have a few marks; both horns have minor dimples, the shoulder area has a few little dents, the bottom corner near the knobs has a couple of reasonable sized chips. The front is pretty clean, just some dimples behind the bridge and on the top horn and some play scratches, nothing nasty. Overall: good condition (7/10).
Playing condition notes: Neck is straight, action is low, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Frets have some light wear, there's plenty of height in them; 7.5/10 for life left. Setup with fresh 10/46 strings.
