Fender '62 Strat, vintage white, made in Japan 1991. This is an absolute cracker. Firstly, it's in superb condition for a guitar pushing thirty. There's basically no major marks to speak of, it's in superb shape. The white has yellowed with age to a buttery cream; it looks amazing and the contrast against the crisp white guard and even more yellow pickup covers is super cool. The neck: oh boy, what a neck. The rosewood slab board is dark and streaky and the maple features some mild birds-eye grain higher up; it's visually attractive and exceptional in the hands. It's a handy round, moderately slim profile with just enough 'meat' in the shape to feel great. Tone-wise, this delivers a lively, bright and vibrant take on the Strat-spank with a complex midrange and a punchy attack. It's all class, basically.
