Fender '62 Strat, candy apple red, crafted in Japan 2002-4. Tort on red looks great; it's not the go-to obvious combo but it certainly has a rich visual appeal. This is awesome in the hands: lightweight body, plenty of natural resonance, slim round comfy neck... it's just all too easy. Tone-wise, the Texas Special pickups deliver a slightly hot-rodded, scooped take on the classic Strat-spank. With a bit of overdrive, there's a certain searing warmth to the treble and a fat, tight bass; it's very tasty indeed. There's a whole lot to like here; it's a great Strat that'll surely look perfect on stage with your matching red pants, right?
