Fender '62 Strat, vintage white, made in Japan 1986. It's really not necessary to extol the virtues of the white Strat, most players instinctively understand it's many glories. This example is surely a worthy carrier of the title; it's a cracking Strat. The early Fujigen-made Fender models are renowned for brilliant workmanship and amazing wood selection; this is a classic case of why they're so well renowned. The neck is a supremely smooth and satisfying piece of maple; it's superbly slim and slick in the hands. The golden syrup maple is paired with a rich dark chocolate rosewood board; classy under the fingers and an appealing visual contrast against the aged white finish on the body. The faded finish, aged plastics and smoky chrome hardware give this a slick played-not-thrashed look; so very tasty. If you've wondered what all the fuss is about on these early MIJ Strats, here's your lightbulb moment!

Cosmetic condition notes: mild finish wear. Headstock has some minor marks on the end and bottom edge. The neck has a couple of minor dimples on the back but is clean and smooth in the hands. The back has some widespread but very light scratches and dimples from buckle rash, no major marks though. The sides have a few minor marks, some dimples on both horns and the shoulder, some scuffs near the jack and along the back edge. The front has no major marks, just some light play wear on the guard and top horn and a few tiny dimples on the shoulder area. Overall: very good condition (8/10).

Playing condition notes: Neck is straight, action is low, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Frets have some normal wear but nothing nasty, 7/10 for fret life left. Setup with fresh 10/46 strings.
