Fender '62 Tele, vintage white, crafted in Japan 1997-8. Yum... creamy. The 1962 Telecaster had a slab style rosewood fingerboard, the classic 'spaghetti' decal on the headstock, a three-saddle spiral bridge, an alder body and a three-ply guard, so this twanger gets all that good stuff too. The neck is a very agreeable slim round shape, and it's carved from an extra pretty piece of gorgeous golden maple: tightly grained, arrow straight, aged to perfection. I'm a fan of the aged white finish. I find white guitars with no visible wear a little gaudy, but this one has a few knocks, some scuffs and fading and has yellowed and mellowed out over the decades, and in my books it's now looking pretty stellar. The tone on deck is satisfying: warm and rich through the midrange with a sparkly sweetness on the top end and a percussive, tuneful bass. If you're switching from expressive lead lines to jangly rhythm work, this is just the ticket. This has plenty of understated charm, just like you, right?

Overall: minor finish wear. The headstock has some minor scuffs on the end and bottom edge. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor dimples on the back only. The back has a decent chip in the finish on the edge of the body in the elbow area, as well dimples in the elbow area, near the ferrules, near the jack and on the top horn, nothing too nasty. The sides have minor dimples around the whole body, as well as some minor chips in the elbow area and near the jack. The front has a small chip near the back edge behind the bridge, dimples in the elbow area and below the knobs, a sticker fade mark on the guard under the strings and some standard play scuffs on the guard and horns. Overall: good condition (7/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. The frets are in good shape with minor wear only, 8/10 for life left. Setup with fresh 10/46 Moonshiners strings.
