Fender Mustang, California blue, crafted in Japan 2002-4. I love Mustangs, and all the more so if they're in cool finished like this. The Cali blue is a bit darker than sonic blue but lighter than lake placid... blah blah blah you may say, but it looks awesome. This model is a '66 style, which is less common than the '69 style and has a few cool stylistic touches: slab style poplar body, early CBS decals and white button tuners. It's certainly a charming aesthetic. The tone on deck is equally fun: punchy and dark through the lows, with a snappy citric top end with plenty of chime... perfect for chonky rhythm parts and bustling riffs. The cheeky tremolo, short scale, slim neck and lightweight body make for a really comfortable, addictive feel; it's just so easy to get your songs out on that you'll hardly want to put it down. All up: heaps good.
