Fender '69 Mustang, vintage white, made in Japan 1987. Mustangs disappeared from the Fender USA catalog in 1981; these early Japanese examples were the only Mustangs made in the 80s. As with all the 'E serial' guitars, this is made with a whole lot of love and care from some delicious bits of timber. The neck is a delight: slim and round in profile, aged to a delicious golden maple hue, arrow-straight and extremely saucy in the hands. The finish has copped some stickers, dings and chips etc... honest play wear on a guitar with a few decades of riffs on the clock. The pickup aren't original (shocking I know!); they're a pair of vintage pink Dimarzio humbuckers that crank out a thick, beefy tone that eats up overdrive with gleeful abandon. These early Japanese guitars were some of the best instruments Fender had made since the 60s, so nab yourself a beautiful little mongrel and riff yourself happy.
