Fender '72 Strat, rebel yellow, made in Japan 1990. This is really cool. The 1972 version of the Strat had big bold black logos, a big headstock, the 'bullet' truss rod adjuster, black dot inlays and a three ply guard, so this cool cat gets all those appointments too. Rebel yellow popped up around 1988-92 as a catalog colour on some Fender Japan models, and I feel it's one of their nastiest, rudest, coolest finishes ever. This one has yellowed, faded and rubbed up plenty, so now it has a certain crème caramel or Portuguese egg tart swagger and looks superb. The previous owner upgraded the bridge, pickups and wiring, so this is all very crisp under the hood. It sounds great: bright and slicing on the top, but with a percussive fatness down low and a creamy, smooth  midrange. The in-between positions are pure Jimi-goodness, into a dirty amp it's a dream. The neck is pretty beefy, carved to a 70s style U shape from some really beautiful tightly grained maple. I reckon this is superb, I hope you can put it to good use.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has scuffs on the end and dimples on the bottom edge and front near the bullet rod adjuster. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor scuffs and dimples on the back only. The back has dimples on both horns, a dent and some scuffs in the elbow area, scuffs along the back and bottom edges and widespread discolouration and rub wear around the whole body. The sides have dimples, scuffs, rub wear and fading around the whole body  . The front has scuffs and dimples along the back edge, near the jack , around the bridge and on the top horn, as well as fading and rub wear around the whole body.
Overall: very good condition (8/10)

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 10/46 Moonshiners strings.
Fret life: 8/10, minor wear only
