Fender '72 Strat, olympic white, made in Japan 1989-90. Some Strats just have swagger. These Fujigen-era examples of the Strat are regarded very highly for their build quality and wood selection; this is no exception: everything feels to be exactly in it's place. There's a certain mojo that comes with a 'played in' neck like this; the slim round profile is already an easy shape to get along with, but with a heap of play on the clock, it just feels 'right'. Tone-wise, this offers a really juicy, warm take on the classic Strat-spank. There's still heaps of jangle and brightness, but it's got a lovely full rich midrange to match. The look: oh boy, you can't go wrong, right? Beat up olympic white, aged maple board, bold CBS-era logos... basically, it's got swagger in spades.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. Headstock has some marks on the end and bottom edge and some scuffs around the place. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, but there's minor dimples on the back, light rub wear on the board and some rub wear on the edges. The sides and back have minor scuffs, scratches and dimples basically covering the whole guitar, there's no major marks or big chips but there'a a heap of little ones. The front is cleaner; there's still dimples all over the body but they're less noticeable. Overall: good condition (6.5/10)

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have a little wear but no major buzz issues and plenty of height, 7/10 for fret life left. Wearing fresh 10/46s.
