Fender '72 Tele Custom, made in Japan 2007-10, black on black. The Tele Custom is one of those models that has a certain instant swagger; it's effortlessly cool. This one sports an ash body and the a golden maple board, so you get stacks of midrange growl and presence. The tone is great; the thickness and warmth of the neck humbucker perfectly balances the classic brightness and chime of the classic-Tele bridge pickup. Into a lightly overdriven amp, it's a perfect blend of cream and chilli. The 70s style slim neck is easy to get along with, it feels forgiving and comfortable and is instantly familiar. This is one of those guitars equally at home playing sweaty punk shows or black tie corporate showcases... it has that evergreen (everblack?) coolness.
