Fender '72 Tele, natural gloss, made in Japan 1987-8. If a guitar has been played and played and played, chances are, there's a reason, right? The wear on the board and body give away a bit about how the last few decades have been for this one: busy. It's a great feeling Tele: heaps of natural resonance and a slim, comfy neck mean you're feeling it before you even plug it in. A previous owner added a four way switch, so you can run the pickups in series or parallel. There's a remarkable difference between the two: both great tones, it's super nice to have the option. There's heaps of classic 'Tele twang' on offer, but this has a big warmth and body to balance and complement the natural brightness... it's very satisfying. These pre-1990 Fujigen made Teles aren't getting any more common as the years wear on, and my suspicion is that history will be very kind to them; this is a brilliant guitar and surely deserves plenty of recognition. It'll go perfectly with your faded-AF black jeans, right?

The back has a chip and some dimples on the top back corner as well as widespread light scuffs and surface scratches; nothing too nasty. The sides have a few chips in the elbow area, some little dents and marks near the jack and little dimples and checking lines around the whole body. The front has widespread checking, dimples and scuffs and extensive play wear on the guard and top horn, but no major marks. Overall: good condition (7/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good. All electronics tested and working properly. The frets look to have been relatively recently dressed, so they're pretty even with no major buzz issues, but some height has been shaved off; 6/10 for fret life left. Wearing fresh 10/46 Moonshiners strings.
