Fender '72 Telecaster, natural gloss, made in Japan 1993-4. What a gorgeous piece of ash! This is a lovely vintage style T, it's got a lot of charm. Being a '72 style model, you get the bold black logos, a moderate U shape neck with a maple board, the traditional three barrel saddle bridge and a tidy coat of natural gloss. There's some really beautiful grain on show in the body, it's really quite striking. The neck is also blessed with some tight grain lines and pretty detail too, it's a lovely piece. The tone on offer is a sparkling, clear take on the Tele twang, with a rounded fullness through the lows balancing the eloquent sweetness of the top end. The neck feels great in the hands and the body is pretty moderate in weight for an ash example, so it makes for an easy, agreeable playing feel. These Fujigen-made Fender examples from the mid 90s are steadily creeping up in value, and rightfully so: this is a sweet biscuit.
