Fender '73 Mustang, crafted in Japan 2004-5, comp old candy finish. This hits the 'cool' mark in so many ways. First up, the finish is awesome. Old candy apple red is a little darker than regular CAR, and paired with a cream racing stripe and a matching headstock, it's surely all sorts of awesome. The original pearl guard has been switched for a plain white one, which alongside the chrome knurled knobs as a certain understated charm to the aesthetic. The neck has been refinished in satin, so it feels very smooth in the hands; combined with the short scale and skinny profile, this is an effortless player. The bridge pickup has been replaced with a Lace Sensor Red single coil; it's an overwound low noise pickup that delivers a super punchy, growly warm midrange... tasty. The classic Mustang punch and chime is all there, this sounds terrific. Basically, it's too dang cool.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. Headstock has some minor marks on the end, bottom edge and back. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor dimples on the back only. The back has a few dimples around the body and some rub wear; it looks like it's been deliberately scuffed to take some sheen off the finish. The sides have a few dimples on both horns, the shoulder and near the jack. The front has light surface scratches over the whole body, no major marks though. Overall: good condition (7/10).

Playing condition notes: Action is low, intonation is good, neck is straight, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have some normal wear but no major buzz issues, 6/10 for life left. Wearing fresh 11/49s.
