Fender '75 Jazz, made in Japan 1985-7, natural finish. That is one flash piece of ash! These '75 style J basses with the block inlays and bound board always look the business. This one features some very pretty grain, and with the aftermarket tort guard, it's a real thing of beauty. The neck is an easy player too; it has that typical slim J profile but with the little extra roundness through the back typical of 70s style models. It's not super light in weight but is far from the heaviest example of this model we've had; the body is nice and resonant and has a pleasant note to it when you tap it. Plugged-in, there's a heap of growl and attack, balanced by a nice snappy top end and a tuneful low end. The neck pickup is an older Duncan Qtr Pound, so that has a nice juicy fatness to it especially. These never last long, and scoring a super early E-serial example is a rare treat, so claim a golden grained beauty for your wall and play it daily for the next three decades too!
