(SOLD) Fender Japan '75 Reissue Jazz Bass JB75-90US Natural Gloss 2007
Fender '75 Jazz Bass, natural finish, crafted in Japan 2006-8. This is awesome, it's such a cool bass. The 1975 style J Bass from Fender Japan is a bit harder to get than the more common Japan Standard or '62 Reissue models, and they always turn heads. The combo of the bound maple fretboard, block inlays, bold black logos and the ash body looks superb, it's such a cool aesthetic. The ash on display under the gloss finish features some very pretty figuring, it's very attractive. The previous owner dropped a pair of Dimarzio noiseless single coils in, so that enhanced the already-excellent tonal combo of maple and ash. There's a thick, assertive low end with a very fast, immediate attack, a growly midrange with a nice mix of warmth and cut and a snappy, clear treble, all with that passive-single-coil clarity and snap but no hum. The neck is a comfy 70s style U shape, so it's skinny at the nut but with just enough meat in the back to feel reassuring in the hands. The electronics have been upgraded to match the pickups, so this is a great candidate for a busy player. This is a huge sounding, fast playing, slick looking classic J... just Jerfect. Yes, Jerfect.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has some minor dimples on the end and bottom edge, no major marks. Neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor dimples on the back only. The back has widespread very light scuffs, no major marks. The sides have a handful dimples on both horns, near the jack and in the elbow area. The front has no major marks, just some dimples around the bridge and in the elbow area, as well as some light scuffs from play on the guard and horns. Overall: very good condition (8/10).
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Frets have minor wear, 8/10 for fret life left. Set up with fresh 45/105 Moonshiners strings.
