Fender '75 Jazz, black, made in Japan 2012. You could be forgiven for thinking this is a Geddy Lee (Rush) signature bass; it's certainly similar in aesthetic and appeal. These '75 model J basses were the fanciest bass in the Fender Japan catalog for a few years, so you get some nice specs like a proper ash body and USA pickups. Plugged in, the ash/maple combo and tasty pickups offer a bright, snarly tone with heaps of presence, bite and definition, balancing out a fat and immediate low end. The neck is slick and quick, arrow straight and a fast friend; it feels awesome. The styling is absolute too cool: the tux black/white combo is crisp and classy, and combined with the maple board with binding and blocks, this is Hemsworth gorgeous. Geddy-into your life!
