Fender Aerodyne Telecaster, made in Japan 2008. The Aero Tele is a model that a lot of people hanker for, but very few people have. The were only made for a few short years and never in especially large quantities, but they made quite an impression around the globe despite the short supply. The primary reason they're so desirable is obvious: holy smokes, it's gorgeous! The carved top, contrasting cream binding, matching headstock... it's really quite stunning. Aside from looking good, this has a lot to offer in the tone and feel departments too. The neck is slim in profile with medium 22 jumbo frets; it's easy on the hands and conducive to quick lead playing, combined with the lightweight ergonomic body, this is a dream in the hands. The P-90 style neck pickup sounds exceptional; it's thick and creamy through the midrange with a delightful crispy clear treble and a rhythmic attack. The bridge pickup adds a some classic-T slice and twang; together, they're a revelation. It's been several years since we scored one of these and this one is in very crisp shape, so if you've been waiting for the right one to pop up, here's your chance.
