Fender Japan Jazzmaster in sunburst, made in Japan 1993/4. The Jazzmaster was a top-of-the-line model in the 60s, and the MIJ model is similar; they fetched considerably more Yen off the shelf than the standard Strats and Teles. It comes standard with some luxuries: big fat single coils, the handy dual-circuit electronics, the famous offset tremolo and the unbeatably comfy offset body. The neck is superb; it's a really pretty piece of maple topped with a big slab of dark-chocolate rosewood; it's very classy and superbly playable. The JM-tone is there in spades too: heaps of attack and 'ping', thick juicy mids, creamy lows... a perfect base for layering up sonic textures. This one hails from the famed Fujigen period, and you can feel the love that's gone into the build; it's got a lot of mojo. The classic burst finish is in amazing shape; it's hard to believe this is a 24+ year old guitar. In a word: deluxe.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. Headstock and neck pretty clean. The 'Jerry Funatani' sticker on the end of the board is easily removable, it's just kinda cute so it just seemed a shame to get rid of it. There's a handful of very minor dents/marks/scratches on the body: on the back near the neck plate and the end pin, and on the front near the bridge and on the top horn. The plastics have yellowed and the chrome has some pitting and clpouding. Really, there's barely a mark on it. Overall: excellent condition (8.5/10)

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have some minor wear, 7/10 for life left. Wearing fresh 11/49s.
