Fender Japan Jazzmaster JM66 Sunburst 2010
Fender Japan Jazzmaster, sunburst, made in Japan 2010-11. It's easy to love this, it radiates a perfect balance of sophistication and swagger. The offset body shape is superbly stylish and perfectly weighted, so this feels and looks a treat with a strap attached. It's relatively light for a JM, so that adds a little bit of punch and brightness to the tone. There's a lot of tone to love too: thick, thumping attack balanced by a sizzling, articulate treble, all held together by a balanced and composed midrange. The dual circuit setup allows you to dial in a fat, soupy rhythm tone and switch instantly to a snappy, bright lead sound... heaps of fun. The piece of alder on show under the burst finish is gorgeous, and the neck has some beautiful figuring on show too. All sunburst Jazzies look great, but oh boy, this one is extra slick. Add this to your army of overpriced pedals and get your tunes sounding their absolute zestiest.
