Fender Japan Standard Jazz Bass, candy apple red, crafted in Japan 1999-02. We love these around here, they're a reliable Topshelf favourite. The J-Standard model borrows most of it's dimensions from the 1962 style model, but with a stain finish neck, truss adjuster at the sensible end and 90s style decals. It's a simple offering on the spec sheet, but this is a great sounding, easy playing bass that will scare stuff at twice the dime. The neck feels excellent, it's slim, round and comfy and worn to a slick semi-gloss feel. The tone on offer is immediate and punchy with balance of growl and eloquence, it's very easy to get along with. This would be a great working companion for a busy player or a welcome addition to the corner of your loungeroom; it's got the sort of understated charm your grandma always appreciated.
