Fender Japan Standard Strat, made in Japan 2004-5, olympic white. These J-Std models are great guitars; simple, classically styled and very effective. The neck is a highlight: slim C shape, satin finish for slick movement, more 'modern' 9.8" radius, all made with care from a delightful piece of maple and rosewood. It's a very smooth player indeed. The tone is a thick, stomping take on the classic Strat-spank; there's a heap of attack and a nice rounded bass balancing out the chiming highs and crispy mids. The buttery, creamy white finish is instantly appealing; it's hard to argue that this is a gorgeous creature. If you're after a beautifully made Strat that punches well beyond the price, here's a good candidate.
