(ARCHIVE) Fender Modern Player Coronado II Black 2013

Fender 2013 Coronado II in black. This is part of the 'Modern Player' series that resurrected a bunch of Fender's less common models from their early years with some modern updates. It's very cool! The shape is bodacious and sleek; it's a cool departure from the standard hollow-body and combines with the CBS-style headstock and fretboard binding, this looks awesome. Tone-wise, this sits somewhere between a Cabronita-style Tele and a regular semi-hollow: heaps of attack and sizzle, but a thick body with lots of warmth behind it. The adjust-o-matic bridge is easy to intonate and comfy to rest on and the F-logo tailpiece looks great; all the hardware makes sense. These are a unique model, they really make a lot of sense to play despite their 'left of centre' aesthetic. Good stuff!
