Fender Mustang, rebel yellow, made in USA 1978. It's the coolest colour, right? First up, this has been professionally refinished before it landed in the shop. I'm not sure what the original finish was, but the bright, glossy, sunny yellow is an absolute delight. It's a top-class job: very even around the body, not too thick, smooth to the touch. The neck has been refinished on the back too, the pictures show a few marks in the finish that are underneath the new clear coat, so it feels extra smooth in the hands. There's some mods on deck too: a new wiring harness, new pickguard and a Mastery bridge. The bridge adds some tuning stability and saves the strings slipping from their slots: it's a great piece of hardware and not something that comes cheap. The neck is a fairly slim, rounded shape that sits in the hand nicely, and paired with the small size body, this is a comfy little player. Mustangs are always punchy and snappy, but this one has a fairly dense ash body, which adds a bunch of definition and slice to the mix. It's perfect for punk and surf: the naturally short sustain and snarky attack mean every little flick of your right hand comes out in cheeky, boisterous detail. Just add a RAT or some other filthy pedal and you'll be blowing the doors of garages all over the town. "My yellow, in this case, is not so mellow" - Jimi.

The B-string tuner is a little bent but works fine. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor dimples and rub wear on the back. The back has some light scuffs near the neck joint and back edge. The sides have some dimples near the jack and in the elbow area. The front has some dimples on the top horn, behind the tailpiece and near the knobs, as well as some normal play wear on the guard and horn. Overall: very good condition (8/10).
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. The frets are pretty low with some pitting and normal wear, but they're fairly even with no major buzz issues, 5/10 for fret life left. Wearing fresh 11/49 Moonshiners strings.
