(ARCHIVE) Fender Precision Bass Japan Standard Lake Placid Blue 1999
- Description
- Guitarchives
Fender Japan Standard Precision Bass, lake placid blue, crafted in Japan 1999-00. This little babe is effortlessly cool. The LPB finish is a whole lot less common on this model than the ubiquitous reds and whites, and gosh it looks great! The finish has barely a ding, but it has yellowed slightly to a slightly lighter blue over the years; it's really something to behold. These J-craft Standard models aren't a strict vintage reissue, although this is pretty closely based on a '62 P. The slightly-slim neck has a really tasty matte finish, it's awesome to move around on. This is so easy to play that the tone just rolls on out with ease: big, juicy thump with a nice round midrange... it's all too easy. Given the steadily increasing price on new basic-model Precisions, this is a certified bargain with a lot of mojo!
