Fender Standard Tele, made in Mexico 1994, black. You know what's handy? Having a mirror on hand at any time, so you can make sure your eyebrows are at their best. Also, it's handy to have a black Telecaster with which to decorate the sonic landscape you inhabit. This is a fairly early Mex-made example, so it's not fancy but it certainly does what a Tele should do. There's a bit of weight to it, which translates to a thick and bright midrange and a tight, tidy treble. The neck is fairly slim and sports a modern 9.5" radius and satin finish, so it's pretty quick under the fingers when required. Classic, but with a touch of glamour: just like you, right?

Model: Fender Standard Telecaster
Made: Mexico, 1994 (serial MN4134792)
Finish: gloss black, 1-ply mirror guard
Body: alder
Neck: one piece maple inc board, 25.5" scale, 9.5" radius
Weight: 4.125kg
Mods: guard repalced
Pickups: Fender Standard Tele single coils
Case: none

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. Headstock has some minor dings on the end and bottom edge. Neck is pretty clean and smooth in the hands, just some glossing from play and minor marks on the back. The back has some light scuffs and surface scratches around the place but nothing nasty. The sides have a couple of chips on the shoulder area and some scuffs around near the jack. The front has some little chips on the shoulder, some light scuffs near the knobs and behind the bridge and some play wear on the guard and top horn. Overall: good condition (7/10)

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. The frets are in good condition with a bit of normal wear, 7/10 for life left. Setup with fresh 10/46s Moonshiners strings.

This listing is an archived entry. We love to look back and remember fondly what characters we've had through the store, so we keep them around for reference.
