Fender Telecaster Thinline, made in Fullerton USA in 1972, mocha brown. You don't see many of these around in Australia; what a find! This is an original first year example of the Thinline in the HH setup, featuring a pair of tasty original Wide Range Humbuckers that'd set you back a small fortune if sold separately. The mocha finish is 100% 70s; it could hardly have come from any other decade and looks super cool with a heap of natural wear around the outside edges. The body is light and resonant; you can hear the sparkle and growl before you even plug it in. The neck is a sensible modern C shape that's easy to get along with. The frets have been replaced at some point and are in great shape; there's not a heap of wear and the notes are ringing cleanly up and down the neck. Tone wise, there's a heap of brightness and crisp treble, balanced by an open and warm midrange. All in all: this is a super cool example of an original iconic model for less than the price of a new Custom Shop guitar... supreme!

Model: Fender Telecaster Thinline
Made: USA, Fullerton Factory, neck date 3 Sep 1972 (serial 368945)
Finish: mocha brown, 3-ply black guard
Body: lightweight ash, chambered
Neck: one piece maple, 7.25" radius, 25.5" scale
Weight: 3.000kg
Mods: some saddle screws replaced, output jack and surround replaced, tuners replaced with Schallers, frets replaced at some point
Pickups: Fender Wide Range humbuckers
Case: original hard shell case, good condition

Cosmetic condition notes: moderate finish wear.  Headstock has some scuffs ans scratches on the end and both edges as well as some rub wear. Neck is clean and smooth in the hands, but there's some rub wear on the sides of the board and some dimples on the back; the board itself is pretty clean. Back has some scuffs and chips in the middle as well as a long scratch near the top edge and a ring of chips and scuffs around the outside. There's also some checking lines and 'buckle rash' scratches. The sides have a lot of marks: there's some chips and repaired marks along the edge running right around the body from top horn to bottom horn. The front is pretty clean compared to the rest of the guitar, just some dimples on the bottom horn, near the jack, on the shoulder and top edge, as well as some scuffs and play scratches on the guard and top horn. Overall: good condition (6.5/10).

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. The frets are in excellent shape, there's not a lot of wear on them, 8/10 for life left. Wearing fresh 10/46 Moonshiners strings.
