Fernandes FST-75, sunburst, made in Japan circa 1977. Fernandes launched in 1969, initially offering flamenco style acoustic guitars, before expanding into electric guitars in the early 70s. They would go on to become one of the biggest guitar brands in Japan to this day. This is a very early example from the brand, and it's in such good shape that it's a cool little slice of history. The FST series was taking cues from the Fender Stratocaster, so this is a fairly close take on the 70s style Strat, although this model has the four-bolt neck joint. It's nicely made: fairly light, resonant and responsive in the hands, with great fret and finish work. The neck is straight and stable and feels great in the hands, and it holds tune nicely. The pickups are in the low-wind 70s genre, so the tone on offer is bright and open with heaps of chime and sparkle. There's a certain depth and vibrance to the sunburst finish too, it looks great. Very cool.
