Fernandes JG40, made in Taiwan 1999, royal blue. These JG series guitars are a lot of fun. Fernandes stuff has done really well in Japan for many decades, but you seldom see them outside Japan. This little guy is a rare HSS version of the JG40. You get some MIJ-shred heritage features: fairly flat fretboard radius, tall frets, 25.5" scale, combined with a cool 90s throwback offset shape body. It's an easy player: light and comfy, slim neck, sturdy hardware... it just works. Tone-wise, it's Strat-like but with a certain bit of extra stank dialled in; it loves a bit of gain and has plenty of attack and warmth. If you're after a cool gig-friendly offset partystarter, this little legend is sure to light your rocket.
