Fernandes JG65, clear acrylic, made in Taiwan 1998 approx. Clearly, you don't see these everyday... sorry, I have children. We love Fernandes JG series stuff around here, they're great sounding, easy playing offsets with sensible hardware for a killer dollar. This one, though, is a bit special: it's a limited run version of the JG65, made with a Lucite/Plexiglass body. As such, it weighs a tonne, but hey, suffer for your art, right? It looks incredibly cool in the shop but under lights on stage, it's sure to do it's best work. The tone is a hot and hefty take on the Strat-style spank: heaps of grit and girth with a punchy attack and juicy natural bass. We installed a deluxe new bridge when this arrived as the original one was... missing. It's playing very smoothly and the trem is slick with heaps of range and stability. The last clear offset we had lasted all of ten minutes on the website, so don't fart about if you love this. It's a clear winner. (sry)

Model: Fernandes JG65
Made: Taiwan, 1998 approx (best estimate; no serial on this one)
Finish: clear
Body: Lucite/acrylic/plexiglass
Neck: maple with rosewood board, slim C shape, 15" radius, 25.5" scale
Weight: 5.145kg
Mods: bridge replaced, guard cut down slightly to accomodate new bridge posts
Pickups: Fernandes MS201 single coil x3
Case: none

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. Headstock has some minor marks on the end and back. Neck is pretty clean, minor dimples only. Back has no major marks, just a couple of scuffs near the cavity. One of the neck screws is broken off inside the neck, but it's super stable with the three and a half screws so we opted to leave it. The sides are also pretty clean, just a minor scuff near the jack. The front is also pretty clear, just some minor play scratches on the guard and top horn. Overall: excellent condition (9/10)

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly, truss rod also works. Minor fret wear only, 8/10 for fret fret life. Wearing fresh 11/49 Moonshiners Strings.

This listing is an archived entry. We love to look back and remember fondly what characters we've had through the store, so we keep them around for reference.
