Fernandes TE-75BT, made in Japan 1989, sugar white. This is such a cool guitar, I really enjoy it. This model is a variation of the TEJ series that ran in the late 80s, which are approximately Tele-shaped but with a bit of shred DNA in the mix. This particular example is a signature model for Hidehiko Hoshino, guitarist for Visual Kei pioneers Buck Tick. It's close to the standard model, but with a bound fretboard and a simplified electronic setup with a single volume control and a three-way mini-switch. The neck is a moderately slim C style shape with a fairly flat radius, it's superbly easy to move around on and enjoys a big bend. The sensible fixed bridge and Gotoh tuners make for great stability, plus the body is light and resonant... it all just feels very reassuring in the hands. The hot single-coil pickups clean up very nicely, so you can get a heap of clarity and sparkle when played clean, but they're happiest with a decent dose of gain. With some distortion, this will maintain excellent definition and dynamics while doling out a hefty, thick low end... satisfying. The faded white finish with matching headstock looks awesome, and the faded sticker mark on the back is a laugh. This is a perfect little piece of late-eighties goodness.
