Fernandes TEJ-45, black, made in Japan 1989. Fernandes stuff has done very well in Japan for several decades now, and for good reason: they make super cool guitars. This is like a Tele, with a bit of 80s shred DNA and a touch of goth attitude thrown in for good measure. The neck is still in the easy round C genre, but it's got a bend-friendly 16" radius and an easy-access neck joint, so it's absurdly quick to move around on. The pickups are a classic overwound passive single coil, so it cleans up nicely at low gain settings and offers plenty of sparkle, but it's definitely happiest with a generous smattering of gain and perhaps some fly kicks and stage jumps. The bound gloss black finish looks similar to the elusive Fender Aerodyne Telecaster of many decades later, but paired with a slightly pointy headstock this has a classy-but-ready-to-party aesthetic. These usually don't last long in the shop as they feel great and look awesome, so don't dither if you're keen!

Cosmetic condition notes: mild finish wear. Headstock has a small chip on the end. The neck has no major marks. The back has a few dimples on the bottom and top edge and some light scuffs, no major marks. The elbow area has a few small dimples, otherwise the sides are tidy. The front is tidy, just a few scuffs and dimples near the bridge, pots and top. The black paint is worn on the chrome hardware throughout. Overall: very good condition (8/10).

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. Frets have almost no wear, 9/10 for fret life left. All electrics tested and working properly. Setup with fresh 12/54 Moonshiners strings and tuned to drop C.
