Fernandes TEJ-55G, made in Japan around 1992, gloss black. Sure, you've got a 'superstrat', but what about a 'megatele'? Legendary Japanese builder Fernandes have sacrilegiously added a smooth two point tremolo bridge, pointy angled headstock and a H/S pickup setup to the classic T shape. It works really dang well. The neck pickup tone is a hi-fi, crisp and thick take on the Strat-spank; it's got what many T style guitars are missing in terms of heft and eloquence. The bridge pickup is an angry, moderately hot humbucker with a heap of growling mids and natural compression; it's perfect into a scungy tube amp. The neck is a sensible halfway point between a tradition round 60s style C profile and a shred-friendly flatter shape; it's intuitive and easy to play without feeling too vintage or too metal. The bound black finish and worn gold hardware combo is super cool; it looks very slick. All kinds of wrong and yet somehow very right.
