Fernandes BSV-70, purple sparkle burst, made in Japan 1985. No prizes for guessing what decade this little monstrosity hails from... the peak of human civilisation, the mid-1980s, of course. It's got all the excesses you could ask for: it's a dang flying V, it's got a Floyd-style 'Head Crusher' tremolo, two outrageous hot humbuckers, a matching headstock and... a pink to purple sparkle fade finish. Good golly, what a time to be alive. One unique and super fun thing about this model, compared to other shred machines, is the 24" short scale. That makes for a super slick, crazy quick playing experience... it's an absolute picnic to shred on. The flat radius board and tall frets etc all add to the vibe, it's just too easy to play. We were messing about on this in-store (happens a lot, would you believe) and laughing that if you can't have fun playing this guitar, you're almost certainly dead... it's an absolute riot. So, get a perm, buy some leather pants, book a limo, buy this and live your best eighties life.

The back has scuffs around the outside edges of the whole body, but no major marks. The sides have a few dimples along the top edge, an extra hole and a little chip from a former strap pin on the bottom point, plus some dimples on the bottom side. The front has a decent little chip on the edge down from the switch and two more small ones up from the neck pickup and up from the back of the bridge, all on the edges, as well as some dimples above the pickups and some light play wear above and below the strings. Note that the finish has faded a fair bit on the front, it must've copped a lot of sun over a few years, as it's more vibrant on the back. Overall: good condition (7/10).
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. Frets have minor wear only, 8/10 for fret life left. All electrics tested and working properly. Setup with fresh 11/49 Moonshiners strings.
