(SOLD) G&L Tribute Series Legacy Cherry Sunburst Korea 2004
G&L Tribute Legacy, made in Korea 2004, cherry sunburst. G&L was founded by none other than Leo Fender and his longtime collaborator George Fullerton, and the brand offered Leo's final takes on his revolutionary designs. The Legacy takes the classic Strat and adds some modern features like medium jumbo frets, a 12" radius and a great two point vibrato bridge and some electronic wizardry. The swamp ash and rock maple combo would be easily fitting on a more expensive guitar, they look classy and dial out a stack of thick mids and crispy clear treble. The tone knobs are cool: the first acts in the traditional way as a master tone for all three pickups, and the second dials in Leo's 'Passive Treble Bass' system that fattens up both the lows and highs, adding strength and fullness to the standard spank. The neck is comfortable and quick, it feels very sturdy in the hands and loves a big bend. This is an early Korean made example of the model; so there's a little extra TLC in the build quality than the later Indo-made ones. These are really well designed and made Strat-style guitars and are brilliant value new, so this 'looks almost new' example is surely a bargain. Thanks Leo!

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. Headstock has some minor marks on the end. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, no major marks. The back has a couple of light scuffs around the body, no major marks. Back cover is missing. The sides are pretty clean, just some light scuffs near the jack and on the bottom horn. The front is very tidy, just a light scratch near the rear strap pin and light play wear on the guard and top horn. Overall: very good condition (8.5/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have some light wear only, 9/10 for fret life left. Wearing fresh 10/46s.
