Gibson Explorer, black, made in USA 2008. The Explorer was a bit too racy for it's time when it debuted in the fifties, but it made a glorious comeback in 1976 and was well received. This is a reissue of the '76 model, and oh boy, it's a proper partystarter. The neck moderately slim and intuitive in the hands, the body is well balanced and weighs in lighter than most LPs and the quality of fret and finish work is excellent. The highlight for me is the Dirty Fingers pickups: they're hot, rich and thick with a lively, snappy attack and top end. They clean up okay but are certainly at their best with a generous dose of gain. This one includes the original case and docs and is in very tidy shape indeed. Do anything for Dethklok!

The back has a handful of very light dimples on the back bottom edge and some light scuffs near the front strap pin and top shoulder. The sides have no major marks, just a couple of surface scratches on the bottom horn and top edge point. The front has a couple of very light scuffs around the bridge, as well as some play wear on the guard and top horn. Overall: excellent condition (9/10)

Playing condition notes: Neck is straight, intonation is good, action is low, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Frets have some minor wear, 8/10 for fret life left. Setup with fresh 11/49 Moonshiners strings.
