Gibson LP Jr, black on black, made in USA 2001. If you can't have a good time playing this, you need to see a doctor. The recipe is delightfully simple: one big ol' flat-topped slab of mahogany with a slim 60s slim set neck, one P-90 overwound single-coil pickup, wraparound bridge, simple controls... all you need and nothing you don't. This dates to happier times for Gibson, so it enjoys some great wood and tidy build quality, which adds up to a certain integrity and resonance in the hands. Plugged in, the magic really begins: growly, juicy mids with a perfect balance between an airy wide openness and snappy, immediate presence and definition. There's a certain 'thing' a Junior has tone-wise that's hard to replicate on two pickup guitars with more practical bridges... the simple design just adds up a sweet combination of snap and beef. You see these in yellow and red most often, so the black on black is a sweet sleek aesthetic that'll surely do it's best work on stage.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has some minor scuffs on the end and back, as well as what looks like stretch marks on the front around the edges as is common on this era of Gibson stuff. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, just a few minor dimples and some rub wear on the back only. The back has widespread surface scratches and light scuffs, no major marks though. The sides have minor dimples around the whole body, no major marks. The front has a little join mark near the guard, it's not a crack or separation in the wood, just in the finish. Aside from that, it's just widespread small dimples and light scuffs, as well as some play wear on the guard and top horn. Overall: very good condition (7.5/10).
Playing condition notes: Neck is straight, action is low, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have minor wear; 8/10 for fret life left. Wearing fresh 10/52 Moonshiners strings.
