Gibson LP Jr 'Revolution' limited run model, blue and pink tie-dye, made in USA 2009. "There is only one thing in life worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about" - Oscar Wilde. If you enjoy seeing a few jaws on the floor and a few confused and elated glances when you walk out on stage, this one is for you. This was a limited run by Gibson for their Japanese distributor Yamano. The fun thing about 'Yamano models' is that they have to pass a very comprehensive and carefully executed quality control process, so this one is built exactly as it ought to be. It feels brilliant in the hands: the body is super light and very loud unplugged, the neck is moderate and sturdy and feels great with a few 'miles' on the satin finish, the maple board is luxurious under the fingers... it all just feels alive. The stock 490 humbuckers have been switched for a pair of vintage-voiced Dimarzios, and they're brilliant. There's a open, musical treble and attack, balanced by a punchy midrange and a tight, warm bass. It really adds up perfectly sonically, this would slot nicely into a whole stack of different gigs. The finish... well, it makes a change from the ubiquitous black/white/sunburst everyone else has, and it's sure to get a reaction from all comers. Being such an oddity, it's a pretty safe bet to old value nicely into the future. Plus, you've always dreamed of having a tie-dye LP with a peace symbol on the headstock, right? Right!
Model: Gibson Les Paul Junior Double Cutaway 'Revolution'
Made: USA, 2009 (serial 011790486)

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock ha a couple of tiny dimples on the end. The neck has some glossing from play but is pretty clean, just some mild play wear on the board. The back has a good size patch of buckle rash as pictured, but it's only skin deep; there's a couple of other minor marks on the bottom horn, near the cavity cover and the top edge. The sides have a few minor dimples: top side up from the bridge, near the rear strap pin, bottom edge near the knobs. The front is looking great, the finish wears pretty robustly, so it's just a couple of extremely small dimples on each horn and behind the bridge. Overall: very good condition (8/10)
Playing condition notes: Neck is straight, action is low, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have a little wear, 8/10 for life left. No headstock breaks. What a heartbreaker.
