Gibson LP Special, TV yellow, 2009. This is one of those guitars with buckets of swagger and attitude. The LP Special is the two pickup version on the Junior, but with a bonus body contour on the back for some added comfort and weight relief. This version was a Japan only limited model; the rest of the world wasn't offered such treasures. It's sprightly and snappy in the hands; the slim neck and light body spring to life with every note and movement. The super thin nitro satin finish really lets the wood breathe, so there's an openness and clarity through the treble and mids that allows for some enviable note separation and dynamic responsiveness. The P-90 pickups deliver a thick, rich midrange with a chiming clear top that balances body and cut perfectly. TV yellow is a brilliant finish, and with a bit of naked mahogany starting to show through as it wears, this is surely a delight on the eyes. If you don't think this is cool, it might be time to see your doctor.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has a couple of tiny dimples on the end, otherwise it's very clean. The neck has no major dents or scratches but does have a noticeable patch of play wear behind the 9th fret; it's very smooth on the hands though. The back has a couple of light scratches in the middle and some widespread glossing from play, as well as some rub wear exposing the mahogany near the switch cavity and body contour. The sides are largely in good shape, but there's some scuffing and rub wear around the back edge from the shoulder to the jack. The front is pretty clean, just some glossing from play on the horns and some very light wear on the guard. Overall: very good condition (7.5/10)
Playing condition notes: Neck is straight, action is low, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets look excellent, almost no visible wear; 9/10 for life left. No headstock breaks. Setup with fresh 11/49s.
