Gibson LP Special, TV yellow, 2012. This is a very charismatic little character. The worn TV yellow finish really radiates charm; it's got a few bruises and dings and looks nicely played-in, and it pops beautifully against the black plastics and the bound fretboard. The LP Special is an underrated overachiever; they're a little lighter and easier to manage than a classic LP Standard, and P-90s really deliver a brilliant tone. The sound is harmonically rich, dynamically responsive really nicely balanced. It'll easily switch between clean and dirty, lead and rhythm, open and muted... it remains convincing throughout. The slim neck has a few marks on the back but feels very smooth and comfy; it's easy to get along with. This is a great rock and roll machine; it's got a whole lot going for it!
Model: Gibson Les Paul Junior Special P-90s
Made: USA, 2012 (serial 106721334)
Finish: TV yellow nitro
Body: mahogany
Weight: 3.6kg approx
Neck: mahogany, baked maple board
Mods: none
Pickups: original Gibson P-90, alnico magnet
Case: padded Gibson gig bag, fair condition
Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. This type of finish wears pretty quickly, so there's quite a few small marks around the guitar, but nothing big or nasty. The edges are quite worn, there's plenty of mahogany on show on the bottom around from the jack and on the top directly up from the bridge. There's some buckle rash, including some wood on show as well as some shallow scratches on the guard and above the strings. Overall: good condition (7.5/10)
Playing condition notes: Neck is straight, action is low, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have a little wear, but there's plenty of height in them, 8/10 for life left. No headstock breaks. Wearing fresh 11/49s and ready to party.
