Greco EG500, cherry burst, made in Japan 1977. Greco have made a lot of great guitars over the decades, but their Gibson style stuff made from 1975-85 are probably their most iconic offerings. This is a great little 'lawsuit era' take on the Les Paul Standard, although technically Greco and Gibson never went to court. It's got a chambered body and a really lovely maple top, with some 'almost flame' plain maple figuring that's bookmatched beautifully and draws the eye in. It's a darker, more subtle take on the classic cherry burst, it really has that '59 style fade to it. The tone on offer has a lot of character: it's growly and creamy with a dash of gain, but it cleans up to a smooth and eloquent voice when played clean. The neck is slim and quick, it's easy to get along with and has weathered the decades with dignity. You can't go too wrong with these, and in a fun bonus, it comes with a cool vintage hard case.
