Greco EJR-82, made in Japan circa 2010, TV black finish. This model is Greco's most recent take on the classic Les Paul Junior. Greco's famously brilliant build quality is certainly on offer: this feels exceptionally well balanced, well finished, well appointed and well thought out. The classic LP Jr stuff is there: slab of mahogany, P90 style pickup, basic electronics, rosewood board, wrap-around bridge... just like it always, the simplicity is brilliant. The Greco twists include a cool offset open book headstock, a sensible truss rod adjuster, a slim fast neck with a long tenon joint and superbly cool super thin satin 'open pore' finish. This sounds amazing: thick, juicy, harmonically rich, instantly responsive and charismatically equal parts clear and growly. Not many guitars that look this cool can back up their swagger with exceptional feel and tone, but this little legend really does have it all. Killer!
