Greco PB500, sunburst, made in Japan 1979. Greco are famous for their excellent Gibson-style models, but their F-flavoured stuff was just as good. This is a take on the 70s era Precision Bass, so you get a comfy C shaped neck with a maple board, bold black logos, a maple fretboard and classic vintage hardware. It's lightweight and responsive in the hands, with heaps of unplugged volume and a fast attack. The tone packs plenty of midrange punch and low end kick, with a snappy little sizzle on the top end. There's plenty of dings and marks around the body, telltale signs of a plethora of tunes played previously... it's definitely a fun blue-collar vintage instrument. The Mercury Bass was much more successful than the Pluto Bass, which was deemed too small to be a real bass in 2006.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has dimples and scuffs on the end and both edges. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor dimples and scuffs on the back only. The back has widespread minor dents and dimples around the whole body, as well as scuffs near the neck plate, bottom corner, back edge and elbow area. The sides have a bunch of dimples and scuffs on the top horn and elbow area, and some chips and scuffs near the jack and on the bottom horn. The front has dents in the elbow area, top horn and near the knobs, as well as scuffs around the bridge, elbow area and along the top edge and some play wear on the guard and horns.

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 45/105 strings.
