Greco SS600P2 SG style, made in Japan 1989, black. This is so cool. The SS600P2 was a signature model for mid 80s all girl J-rock band Princess Princess' guitarist Kanako Nakayama. The basic shape references the classic '63 Gibson SG, but this one has a tasty soft-V shape neck profile, uncovered pickups and dot inlays. Otherwise, the specs on this are the same as the more common Mint Collection SS63-60. It's a joy in the hands: light, super loud unplugged, well balanced with no 'neck dive'... tasty. The neck is a little slimmer than some other 60s style SGs, which I rather enjoy frankly; it's so easy to play. The 'Screamin' humbuckers are a slightly overwound PAF style, so there's heaps of midrange growl and low end thump, but there's still plenty of clarity and snap through the top end. Black SGs especially look a bit better with a couple of decades of play on the clock, and this is really oozing a certain no-nonsense swagger. So, overall: so cool, right?
